CNN Virtual Convention Center Debuts During Super Tuesday Coverage, Gets Mocked By Anderson Cooper (PHOTO, VIDEO)

CNN debuted its latest in GCI-enhanced election gadgetry during its coverage of Super Tuesday.

The network's Tom Foreman took viewers into what CNN called its "virtual convention center" so that audience members would be able to see what "may unfold" during the Republican convention in Tampa.

Foreman stepped onto the backpart of the studio stage and was engulfed by graphics depicting a convention center. Graphics of flags with photos of each Republican candidate were dropped from the center's virtual ceiling, as Foreman discussed the delegates each candidate needs to win the primary race.

The network also paid close attention to details, like adding virtual delegates in different outfits and different postures to fill seats. There seems to be a particularly interested man leaning forward in the front row, third seat from the left.

Wolf Blitzer said that Foreman would be providing reports from the virtual convention center throughout the night and tossed to Anderson Cooper, who weighed in. "I feel bad—is Tom Foreman trapped in that virtual world?" he asked. "It's like Mike TV in Willy Wonka."

Cooper has mocked CNN's election gadgets in the past. During the network's coverage of the Iowa caucus, he jokingly referred to CNN's holograms as Weebles.
