Foo Fighter Taylor Hawkins Buys in Hidden Hills (PHOTOS)

We need a scorecard to keep track of the Foo Fighters these days. A truck full of Grammys enough to make us ask "Adele who?," a well-publicized appearance at a high-price Obama fund-raiser and a shout-out by the Prez himself, and now drummer Taylor Hawkins leaving his humble Topanga Canyon home and buying an equestrian estate in the gated Valley community of Hidden Hills.

Having a hard time with the visual there, aren't you? Foo Fighters, Hawkins, and a gated community? Seems like he got a relative bargain, paying $2.7 million for the 7,000-square-foot home, down from the asking price of $3.1 million.

The home has a dramatic staircase, high ceilings and hardwood floors. There is a massive granite fireplace in the living room and two master bedroom suites, plus five other bedrooms. The property includes a two-bedroom guest house with a fireplace and kitchen and the grounds feature a resort-style pool and spa with a water slide and waterfalls.

We assume the multiple fireplaces provide enough space for all the Grammys won by the Foo Fighters. The alternative rock band performed their hit single "Walk" at the recent Grammy ceremony and went home with five awards, losing only to Adele in the Album of the Year category. They followed that with being the "opening act" at a $250-a-head fundraiser for President Obama in Los Angeles. As Obama quipped when he took the stage: “Love the Foo Fighters!” They were so tired of winning so many awards so they said, ‘Let’s do something else tonight.’”

The buyers were represented by Andrea Curran of Snyder Sutton Real Estate, Topanga. Lisa Gutman of Keller Williams had the listing.
