Jennifer Lawrence 'Seventeen' Cover: 'Hunger Games' Star Talks Co-Stars, Body Image

Jennifer Lawrence: 'I’m Just So Sick Of These Young Girls With Diets'

To call Jennifer Lawrence the "it-girl" of the moment would be a massive understatement. In addition to the ever-mounting Hunger Games hysteria this month, the breakout star, who will be playing the lead role in the film, is on the cover of Glamour, Glamour UK, and also the April 2012 issue of Seventeen. We got a sneak peak at the 21-year-old actress's Seventeen cover and her interview, where she dishes on boys, body image, and what it was really like to work with co-stars Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson on the Hunger Games set.

Jennifer has become a champion of positive body image and healthy eating habits. In her Seventeen interview, he star opened up about how important she thinks it is for girls to feel good about themselves and to have healthy body-image role models in the media to look up to.

"I’m just so sick of these young girls with diets," Jennifer told Seventeen. "I remember when I was 13 and it was cool to pretend to have an eating disorder because there were rumors that Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Richie were anorexic. I thought it was crazy. I went home and told my mom, 'Nobody’s eating bread -- I just had to finish everyone’s burgers.'"

And this isn't the first time Jennifer has spoken out about body image and dieting. In the April 2012 issue of Glamour UK, the star said that she exercises but she never diets, because "You can’t work when you’re hungry, you know?”

She also discussed the shenanigans that went down behind the scenes of the Hunger Games movie with Josh and Liam. She said: "Josh [Hutcherson] and Liam [Hemsworth] are really great friends too. They are hilarious and sweet. They are like my brothers. As soon as we all got together, we reverted back to being 13-year-olds. Josh and I were neighbors. Every time I would come in late, I would go and bang on the door and wake him up and we’d all hang out."

But Josh and Liam aside, Jennifer addressed the most important question of all: Is she Team Gale, or Team Peeta? Just like her character, Katniss Everdeen, Jennifer found it difficult to make up her mind.

"I think I was Gale until he started getting a little too trigger-happy," she said. "Or maybe first Peeta and then Gale or Gale, then Peeta? I went back and forth. I flip-flopped."

And even though we're still eagerly awaiting the release of the first film, Hunger Games fans can't help but look forward to seeing more of Katniss, Peeta and Gale in the HG sequel, Catching Fire. The script was just finished and sent to author Suzanne Collins a few days ago!
