Verizon Teases 'Something' The Day Before Apple's IPad Event

As if the wait for the latest iPad hasn't been painful enough, the current look of Verizon Wireless' webpage is like rubbing salt in the wound.

On March 6, just one day before the slated March 7 iPad HD announcement, Verizon's homepage sported the cryptic message: "Something is coming. Be among the first to hear the news."

Curious viewers of the page then have the option to submit their email address to "get all the details about the latest Verizon products."

Hinting at something, Verizon?

Early on March 6, iMore made the connection between Verizon's tease of a homepage with the coming release of the iPad HD, which, according to reports, will come with 4G LTE network connectivity.

That's a feature Verizon must be excited about. According to a March 6 report by Reuters, a new and improved iPad with the ability to operate on a 4G LTE network may give mobile network providers Verizon Wireless and AT&T a big boost in revenue.

Unfortunately, we'll most likely have to wait until tomorrow to hear Verizon's "breaking news." Do you think Apple will announce an iPad with 4G LTE connectivity tomorrow? Weigh in via our quick poll!

Two leaks, from tech sites Cnet and VentureBeat, suggest that the Apple's next tablet will break with numerical naming tradition and be called the iPad HD, rather than the iPad 3. This, of course, would better advertise the crisper display that is expected to be the new iPad's killer feature.

Speaking of which...
