It's not the next "Jersey Shore," "American Idol," or even "Iron Chef," and despite what Warren Miller Entertainment may say, we think that's a good thing. The group just concluded pitching several TV stations a new reality show focused on the craft beer movement. The series, titled "Beer America," would emphasize six craft brewers and their bids to win a medal at the Great American Beer Festival, held annually in Denver.

"The key to the success of a show like this is it has to be entertaining first and about beer second," said Paul Leone of Studios 121, a Texas-based production partner in the series, to the Daily Camera. "There are shows about storage lockers. All of those shows are on TV because there's interesting characters involved."
Studios 121 further explains the eight-part series in a press release:
In each hour-long episode of Beer America we’ll introduce one of the craft breweries that will be competing at the Great American Beer Festival in September 2012. These breweries will come in all shapes and sizes and from different regions across the United States. We’ll explore the history behind each brewery and introduce the unique and outrageous characters that make up their brew crew. Each region of the country is unique, and because of that, their stories and the beer styles they create are vastly different. We’ll see how these breweries got started, hear about their one of a kind specialty beers and highlight the cool ways they contributing to the growth of the communities they live in. We’ll also witness each brewery creating the beer that just might be the next medal winner at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver this fall.
Beer America is an insiders guide to the culture, science, unique characters, and competition of beer! Every episode will feature the growing passion and movement that is American Craft beer. It’s local, it’s regional, and it’s America…Beer America!
