Nick Cannon Lupus: Mariah Carey Helping Husband Through Illness (VIDEO)

WATCH: How Is Mariah Carey Handling Her Husband's Illness?

The last couple of months have been especially tough for Nick Cannon, who was hospitalized for kidney failure in January and then hospitalized again weeks later for blood clots in his lungs.

But the "America's Got Talent" host, who revealed last week that he was diagnosed with a lupus-like autoimmune disease, is bouncing back from his health problems. He stopped by "Access Hollywood" recently to talk about how his wife, Mariah Carey, is handling his illness.

The 31-year-old actor jokingly called his wife of three years "Dr. Carey," and told "Access Hollywood" that she always makes sure he takes his medicine and eats properly.

"She knows every home remedy. She's great in the kitchen," Cannon said.

"Not only is she taking care of the kids and making sure I'm taken care of, but then she has this 'little career' that she's doing," said the father of 10-month-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan. "She's singing right now in the studio. She's in great shape. You think I'm busy? She's busy. She's Super Mom."

Cannon was rushed to the hospital in late December 2011 while on vacation in Aspen, Colorado as a result of his mild kidney failure. Carey tweeted photos of the couple in the hospital, asking followers to pray for her husband.
