WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama's re-election campaign plans to release a 17-minute documentary next week about his first term in office.

Campaign manager Jim Messina says the documentary was directed by Davis Guggenheim, whose credits include the Academy Award-winning, "An Inconvenient Truth," about Al Gore's global-warming campaign.

Messina says the documentary will, in his words, "put into perspective the enormous challenges that the nation faced when the president took office and the strides we've made together."

Campaigns frequently release documentary films to reach voters and amplify the narrative of a candidate's message. In 1992, TV producers Harry Thomason and Linda Bloodworth-Thomason helped create "The Man From Hope," a campaign biography of Bill Clinton.

In his CNN interview, Guggenheim says bascially he can find no fault in Obama .. and couldn't squeeze enough of his 'accomplishments' into the film. Man, what has this guy been ingesting! Ugh, his cultish hero worship is creepy!

It's not creepy...it is genuine devotion, something the right lacks but wish they had.

It is creepy for anyone to find NO fault in any person -- let alone a politician! And ..hello!..the Right has always had a cultish devotion --ever heard of Saint Ronnie Reagan?? And their unwavering support of atrocias W? Just as bad as Dems/liberals supporting Obama when he broken promises, and continues to violate the Constitution as Bush did. Lacking in integrity and CREEPY!

Will it include O's selling the public option out to the insurance lobbyist and obediently agreeing to her money-machine mandate instead? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PwqSCJmbxk

Obviuosly not -- or maybe yes -- anyhow, he can find "no fault" with his hero president.

oh man...this will be one for the books....obama has a way of taking things, and mis-directing the truth, into a foggy array of twist and turns, that will leave you scratching your head, and saying, how in the hell do you get people to believe this? fot the most part of his term, he blamed everything on bush, and the other day, blamed somebody in the middle east on the gas prices, not his failed energy plan, and not allowing the keystone oil project. he has shut down most of the gulf oil drilling, while sending money to brazil, for their oil drilling projects, manipulated the automobile companies, the banks, the housing market, and has screwed with half the constitution, and has sold israel down the tube...how do you explain that?

Your post reveals your complete ignorance. I imagine the truth is tough to hear since it does not line up with your views. You don't seem the type that likes to challenge their views. That is very often a symptom of ODS, or, Obama Derangement Syndrome. The -9% growth rate that met Obama in Jan. of 2009, left for him by the Bush admin is a real thing. You cannot have a different opinion about facts. The Keystone oil pipeline would do NOTHING to lower the cost of oil. All domestic drilling at the expense of the environment will not lead to more domestic energy and lower oil prices here at home. It will lead to increased oil on the WORLD market and it would at best lower prices by .10 -.15 cents in a decade or so. He did not, "manipulate" the car companies. He saved an entire industry and millions of jobs when such a blow could have sunk the already damaged economy. The housing market and the banks were in full meltdown before Obama got there and you know it. Israel is quite happy with Obama and you folks never mention the exact Constitutional slights you believe he made. I call you a liar, sir.

good. it seems some have forgotten, or never even knew, the huge strides we have made in 3.5 years. HUGE. so to see it all in a concise format will be good to rally any troops - that still need rallying. november is going to be GREAT. i just cannot wait. FOUR.MORE.YEARS.

So you think Bush's unconstitutional acts were terribe, but Obama's are just "great?" As long as he has a D next to his name it's acceptable?
05:42 PM on 03/07/2012
I hope they also air the British documentary 'The Killing of Osama Bin Laden' over here. Obama and his administration cooperated with the making of it and it was absolutely riveting. I don't know how they kept their cool in the Situation Room because I was on the edge of my seat - and I already knew how it was going to end.

You are entitled to your opinion, not your own facts. Sorry, but show me polling data that supports such nonsense. Oh that's right, conservatives aren't fact based, their 'belief based'.

Google is your friend. Come on Puffies, do some research for Pete's sake. Gallup has done the homework for you. Only 20% of the country describe themselves as liberals. IT'S ALL THERE TO BE LEARNED. I suggest you do so. Don't blame the micro, blame those who aren't in your little 20% club.
