We eat it at every birthday, every holiday, at graduations and weddings. Any chance to label something a celebration, we bring out the cake. And why not? It's rich and buttery, sweet and creamy, and it comes in so many shapes, colors and flavors. There's quite literally a cake to put a smile on anyone's face.

With so many occasions to eat cake, we get plenty of chances to make it, too. And we at Kitchen Daily wanted to see what kind of tasty creations you're making in your home kitchens. We received a great display of cakes made by HuffPost Editors and readers alike -- click through the slideshow below to check them out. Have you made a great cake? The Samoa Bundt Cake recipe featured above was not written or developed in any way by Betsylife and was in fact plagerized off this blog: http://breakfasttobed.com/2012/02/01/girl-scout-cookiesamoa-cake-recipe/ The original should get credit.

why on earth would you pend that comment. Do you guys aim at loosing readers? Is that your intentional goal? Masochistic to me. If I go to allrecipes, or a million other sites, they never pend anyones comments

Right now I am making a brown butter & vanilla bean cake with caramel swiss buttercream.
The amazing part about this cake, if you use a cake stand for it, as time goes on it gets moister.

? Uploaded pic two different times but nothing. Maybe 25 images is the max they can accomodate? Anyway, no real recipe here, it's the visual impact that presents the WOW. Just make a cake of choice with four layers. Mine was about 10X12X10, but you could make it any size you like. After the cake is assembled comes the fun and work... making the "basket". I cut out a depression about 2-3 inches deep from the center of the top layer. This will eventually hold the blueberries...or strawberries, etc. The real effort is in piping the buttercream icing to mimic the look of an actual naturally colored, wicker basket. I used a traditional pastry bag with # 47 tip. To get the color right, I used several colors of food color GEL (not the liquid kind) to get variations of the tan colors naturally present in wincker. After filling your pastry bag, dip toothpicks in your gel to get only the bare minimum of color and then stick the picks down to the tip of the pastry bag, and wiiggle around a bit to release the color. Pipe the entire cake (excluding the depression) in basketweave. This effort will take many hours and give you hand cramps. When done, fill with your fresh berries and... impress!

When I finish my cake, I am making this but without the chili's. My neighbors who I will give it to have 3 small kids, don't know if they eat chilis. I have a whole bunch of apples, so thanks very much, cause although I think I make the best pie dough, apple pie even with cruble topping seems boring to me.

I don't have a picture, because I haven't made this recently, and it is just a plain pound cake, but supposedly it was Elvis Presley's favorite pound cake. Called Whipping Cream Pound Cake, I found the recipe online a few years ago, and it has become my favorite recipe for pound cake.
3 C. sugar, 1/2 lb. butter, softened, 7 eggs, room temp., 3 C. cake flour, sifted twice, 1 C heavy cream, 2 tsp. vanilla extract. Butter and flour a 10" tube or bundt pan. Thoroughly cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well. Mix in half the flour, then the cream, then the remaining flour. Add vanilla, and beat well. Pour into prepared pan. Place in COLD oven and set at 350 degrees. Bake for 60-70 minutes. Cool in pan 5 minutes.
