ArtNight Pasadena
What: Most people don't realize just how many museums and art centers call Pasadena their home. It's more than you can fit into one night, but you can try anyway, as the Pasadena art world opens its doors Friday. Stumble across music, entertainment and food trucks as you take a shuttle (or walk) from the Norton Simon Museum to the Pasadena Museum of California Art, the Armory, Art Center College of Design, Lineage Performing Arts Center, Pacific Asia Museum, Pasadena Museum of History and more. Food trucks will include Nom Nom, Coolhaus, Komodo, No Tomatoes!, Paradise Cookies, and Clean Street Food!
When: Friday, Mar. 9, 6-10pm, Free

Hepburn Double-Header
What: Come get a double dose of the charming and talented Audrey Hepburn in, most would agree, her two greatest films: "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and "Roman Holiday." First, learn how to be a socialite -- with a heart -- in the adaptation of Truman Capote's "Breakfast at Tiffany's" (see trailer below). Then, take an adventure in Rome with another swoon-worthy idol: Gregory Peck.

SATURDAY
Rock Out
What: You've surely heard about it: the 340-ton boulder that LACMA is moving from Riverside County to Mid-City as part of artist Michael Heizer's upcoming installation "Levitated Mass." It travels only by night (for over 11 days), goes 5-8 miles per hour, removes traffic lights and power lines that get in its way and rides a custom-built,196-wheeler transporter truck. Check out the famed boulder as it comes up Figueroa on Friday night or wake up early to see it arrive at LACMA sometime between 2-6am on Saturday. After if arrives, you won't be able to see it until the exhibit opens in early summer!

Guerrilla Gardening
What: The mission of DIY guerrilla gardening is to take over abandoned space and beautify it for the public -- preferably with local plants. LA has a small but mighty guerrilla gardening crew, and they're always looking for more volunteers. This Saturday, come plant agave and other succulents at a plot of land in Leimert Park. Warfare with flowers!

Confined Madness
What: One takes place in a government bomb shelter after a nuclear attack; the other takes place in a state prison for the criminally insane. Both are films about the madness that occurs in confined spaces. The Echo Park Film Center will first screen the brand new short, "Bunker 731," by east side filmmakers Kerrie Scher and Jacob Scarpaci, who will conduct a Q&A after the film. Then: "Titicut Follies," a controversial 1967 documentary about shocking conditions in a prison in the 1960s. As always at the film center, feel free to bring in your own libations and snacks.

SUNDAY
Joshua Tree 101
What: There is another world -- a national park -- just two miles east of you, LA. If you go, you'll see… lots of Joshua Trees. But if you go with the Sierra Club, you'll see a lot more: an Oasis, Palm Trees, mining artifacts, old homesteads, Indian Petroglyphs, views of Coachella Valley and more. Learn about how those crazy rock formations came to be, take a 7-8 mile hike and bask in the beauty.

Drink For A Cause!
What: LA's Golden Road Brewing is hosting a beer festival, at which it will unveil its newest cask beer for tasting. It will also pour its signatures: Point the Way IPA, Golden Road Hefeweizen, Either Side of the Hill, and Get Up Offa That Brown. The event will feature tours of the brewery (3:15 and 4:15pm), a home brew seminar (3:30pm) and raffle prizes (3, 4 and 5pm). The event benefits the Whole Planet Foundation (Whole Foods's foundation to alleviate poverty worldwide), and Whole Foods's local vendors and chefs will provide delicious food.
