'Desperate Housewives' Death Revealed In Court Testimony (VIDEO)

Who's Dying On The Next 'Desperate Housewives'?

SPOILER ALERT

A major "Desperate Housewives" spoiler leaked Thursday in the courtroom during the trial for Nicollette Sheridan's wrongful termination case against series creator Marc Cherry.

Taking the stand as a witness, "Desperate" producer George Perkins revealed that James Denton's hunky plumber character, Mike Delfino, will be killed off on the Sun., Mar. 11 episode. On the show, Delfino plays the husband of Terri Hatcher's character's Susan.

"Good Day L.A." reporter Bob Decastro provided some dramatic details about how the revelation unfolded in the courtroom:

"George Perkins ... spills it all. They asked him if there had been any prominent characters who had been killed, and he said, 'Yes there was ... Mike Delfino' ... There were all these gasps and everything ... The lawyer jokingly asked if we should put a gag order on all of this, and the [judge] said, 'I can't do that.'"

Earlier in the day, Denton had taken the stand to testify that all of the actors on the show lived in constant fear that their characters would be killed off, which seemed to contradict Sheridan's claim that her character's death was written after she got into an on-set confrontation with Cherry.

The revelation seems to jive with long-simmering rumors that the final season of "Desperate Housewives" would see at least one, and possibly more, major character deaths. In an interview with HuffPost TV in January, Felicity Huffman and Doug Savant joked about the possibility that their characters might be killed off. "I think a couple 'Housewives' should die," Huffman said. "I think it would be good."

"God, that would be great," Savant agreed. "Could you imagine the line in Vegas? Like you could take odds on your character dying -- I like that!"
