Winning Kansas is irrelevant at best and a Badge of shame at worst! Even the Kansas newspapers recognized that the state is so out-of-whack that it holds no relevance for a general election. But, delegates are delegates, so Santorum won in a state that he had in the bag, thanks to the state governor and ultra-right wing stance. I wonder why Romney won 20% of the vote? Could there be a pocket of rationality in Kansas? Apparently so because Santorum did win unanimously w/in every state county.

I'm betting that Romney read Jason Plouffe's book cover to cover three times -- and required it of his campaign manager too. I remember seeing an Excel spreadsheet where the Obama campaign had projected the delegate count in all 50 states and the territories - and it was pretty close. Look at it here - Kansas has a caucus and Santorum gets 53 delegates. Romney has a few people over in the VI and Guam - and picks up some "cheap" votes too - and picks up 23!! How is it that they have that many?

Also, he's been shopping for the past few years with his SuperPac and so he's getting the endorsements of about 80% of the elected Congressmen and Republican governors - and so those votes are relatively easy - plus they have some impact with the leadership in each of the states. He seems to have the state GOP leadership in his pocket too - see Iowa, Maine, Nevada and other states where funny things happened when it came to counting (or not counting votes) or delegate selection.

The man may come across as awkward on stage but he's got a very methodical approach to all of this -- and it worked for a couple decades at Bain. I think we'll see an election where Barack Obama wins the popular vote and Romney wins the electoral college - especially because Pennsylvania's no longer a winner-take-all for the electoral college, I'm afraid we'll lose.

By perfecting his pick up line, Santorum picks up 32 delegates.
