Saudi Billionaire Buys $60,000 Armand de Brignac Ace Champagne At The Tippler

A 'Saudi Billionaire' Buys $60,000 Bottle Of Champagne In Chelsea

How many men does it take to successfully lift and pour the most expensive bottle of champagne? Apparently three, and it takes one enormously wealthy Saudi billionaire to purchase the bubbly.

Folks at Eater received word from a publicist at The Tippler in Chelsea, who proudly hailed:

Neighborhood bar The Tippler just made "high roller" status! Saudi Billionaire and record holder of the most expensive bottle of champagne ever ordered, transformed The Tippler on SATURDAY NIGHT from local watering hole to luxe club by ordering a one-of-a-kind bottle of Armand de Brignac Ace of Spades for a grand total of $60,000. The newly dubbed "King of Champagne" was the first ever to spend that much money at this favorite Chelsea bar...It was a truly unforgettable night!

To put that outrageous waste of money into perspective, the anonymous buyer could have, with that sum, bought 200 dinners at Per Se. Or 400 bottles of Dom Perignon. Or 24,000 subway rides. Or 240,000 Chicken McNuggets. It's more than the scholarship Samantha Garvey, the homeless teenager who became a semifinalist in a science competition, received from the "Ellen" show in January.

It's also the amount Nobel Prize winner Daniel Kahneman calculated could buy a whole year's worth of happiness.
