Two Huge Surprises For The Last Team To Arrive On 'The Amazing Race'

After a grueling set of challenges in and around Turin, Italy Mark and Bopper were the latest "Amazing Race" (Sun., 8 p.m. EST on CBS) team to hear Phil Keoghan say those dreaded words: "I'm sorry to tell you that you are the last team to arrive."

It was an emotional scene on the mat as the two best friends from Kentucky tried -- and failed -- to hold back the tears.

Talking about how he wanted to make his sick daughter proud of him, Bopper shook Mark's hand and said, "We did real good."

Then, as they prepared to be Philiminated, Bopper and Mark received some good news from a totally unexpected place.

Border patrol agents JJ and Art had won $10,000 for coming in first place during the leg. They announced they were splitting their prize money with Bopper so he could pay off some of his daughter's medical bills.

JJ explained their decision. "You're a good man and you're working hard for your daughter. You're our friends for life."

Bopper was overcome with emotion and told Phil that being on the "Race" was "an opportunity for me, fighting for my child. And that's all it means to me."

Then, as the guys waited for Phil to tell them "you have been eliminated from the race," they got another piece of good news. "This is a non-elimination leg." The best friends survived to race another day.

Will Team Kentucky use their second chance to take home the $1 million? Stay tuned to "Amazing Race," Sundays at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
