Annie Kasprzak Found In River: Cops Search For Answers In Utah Teen's Death (VIDEO)

Cops Find Girl's Body Washed Up In Jordan River

Police are searching for answers after discovering a 15-year-old girl's body floating in a river.

Annie Kasprzak, a freshman at Summit Academy in Draper, was found Sunday morning in Utah's Jordan River, ABC4 reports.

"We really want to find out how this happened, why this happened," Draper Police Sgt. Chad Carpenter told KSL. "If they saw her with someone, that helps us. If they saw her alone, that helps us."

Authorities are soliciting any tips or details available from the public in hopes of solving the mystery behind Kasprzak's death. Some town residents said they thought they heard gunshots go off late Saturday night, but witnesses have yet to come forward.

Annie's uncle, Scott Little, told Fox13 that the girl's family recently went through some hard times.

“Within the last few years her parents had been divorced and remarried, and that was difficult for her,” said Little.

Draper Police Sgt. Chad Carpenter said that investigators did identify multiple injuries on the girl's body, but did declined to share further details, FoxNews reports.

Police received a call that the 15-year-old had run away from her home at approximately 8:45 p.m. on Saturday, one hour after Anne was last seen at her home in Riverton.

Anyone with information should contact authorities at (801) 840-4000.
