'Hunger Games' Wedding: Twitterers React To Green Wedding Shoes Photo Shoots

Suzanne Collins' popular book series and soon-to-be released film, "The Hunger Games," has taken the world by storm -- and now, that includes weddings.

On Tuesday, bridal blog Green Wedding Shoes shared photos from two "Hunger Games"-styled inspiration shoots (neither are real weddings).

The first shoot, styled by Kellie Ann Events + Weddings, incorporated an important symbol from the books-- the Mockingjay bird -- with a wood-burned sign and edible chocolate birds.

The second shoot, styled by Lindye Galloway Events, also used the Mockingjay motif with an altar that features mini gold origami paper cranes against a white backdrop.

While the photos are absolutely gorgeous, we're still scratching our heads over these shoots. Let's be honest -- "The Hunger Games" doesn't exactly scream romance. After all, the series takes place in a dark, post-apocalyptic world where violent fight-to-the-death games are broadcast as entertainment.

Are these "Hunger Games"-styled wedding shoots creative, or bizarre? We turned to the Twitterverse to find out.

"The Hunger Games" film hits theaters March 23

Basing your wedding on a teen-oriented book about kids being forced to murder each other to remind the rabble why rebellion is futile?  At least my hopes of getting hitched in 24th-century Starfleet dress whites are based in some notion of seriousness and style: http://www.shadowdalecreations.com/star-trek_insurrection_1.jpg

I have been to a couple of weddings that had to have 'a theme'. The marriages did not last long and the wedding was a sham. Hey...................I have the perfect them ! Holy union.

You created an article to show off the tweets you solicited for so you would have reactions to another article?

Wow.

i hope people understand that styled shoots(like the Hunger Games shoot i was a part of http://bit.ly/yShRn0) is a creative way to advertize vendors / present new trends/ideas as opposed to plan an entire wedding after.

Think of it this way, when looking at a website, if you are looking a wedding photographer after wedding photographer it gets pretty dull and they all kind of blend together.

Now if you see a really different and unique shoot posted on a blog, you interest will peak and you are more likely to look into that photographers work. Its a way to show the true creative talents of several wedding vendors at once in a really fun way!
i hope this clears something up.

I hope that people understand that these styled shoots are primarily used for advertizing. Tell me, what sounds more interesting to you? Visiting a site and says check out this photographer (which you probably wont do) that looks like every other wedding photographers site you've seen before OR would you see something creative and different than any wedding you've seen before? You are way more likely to visit the latter. Its creative, unique advertizing that allows multiple wedding vendors to be highlighted at once.
