'The Bachelor: After The Final Rose': Ben And Courtney Talk Break-Up, Then A Surprise (VIDEO)

'Bachelor' Reunion Features Break-Up Talk, A Parting Surprise

Normally "The Bachelor: After the Final Rose" (Mon., 10 p.m. ET on ABC) features the Bachelor and his fiancee coming in and talking about how hopeful they are about their future. But Ben Flajnik admitted right away that things had been rough since he proposed to Courtney Robertson in the season finale, which aired just before this special.

Ben claimed that he never cheated on Courtney, despite tabloid rumors to the contrary. But the rumors appear to have left a lasting impact on Courtney herself.

When asked if she could trust him wholly again, Courtney said, "Not completely."

She admitted that her behavior on the show was perhaps a bit of a surprise to Ben, and took full responsibility for it, but didn't appreciate the way he handled it, leaving her feeling abandoned. After Ben watched the show, he broke off their engagement so he could "reassess."

But when the two came out together, there was that sense of hope that permeates so many of these specials. "I can honestly say that I want to be with you. I love you. I'm not going to abandon you," he told her.

While Courtney wasn't wearing an engagement ring when she came out, Chris Harrison did have it with him. After asking what they wanted to do with it, he gave it to Ben, who took it out of the box and put it back on her finger. The engagement is back on.

"The Bachelor: After the Final Rose" aired after the season finale of "The Bachelor" on ABC at 10 p.m. ET.
