Christopher Dade Arrested For 'Project X'-Inspired Party

Teen Arrested After Copying Hollywood Movie Plot

Miramar police arrested a teen who allegedly vandalized a foreclosed home while trying to throw a house party inspired by Project X.

In the film, high schoolers throw an all-night, out-of-control rager. Watch the trailer above.

Christopher Dade, 18, used a 4-minute long YouTube video to entice other teens to a party at 2136 SW 166th Avenue in Silver Shores. The video has since been removed.

In footage captured by Channel 10, Dade tours the two-story house with his camera, showing walls spray-painted in back with: "Project X," "If you're standing here you have to make out," and "Hot Box."

"We've never had anything of this magnitude," Miramar detective Yesenia Diaz told Channel 10.

His party, dubbed Project X Party 2, was advertised on CraigList (posting now removed) and on Twitter:

Silver Lakes neighbor Osman Valdes saw teens scoping out the house and called police, reports WSVN 7.

Dade was arrested Monday morning on burglary of an unoccupied dwelling, but bonded out Tuesday night on $6,000, according to officials at Broward County Jail.

The property manager told WSVN 7 that the teens caused $20,000 worth of damage to the foreclosed home.

While Dade was behind bars, thousands of teens showed up to the gated Miramar community for the party Monday night.

Project X is inspiring copycat parties all over the world. Last week, a Detroit teen was thwarted when he planned a similar fete in a foreclosed home.

In Canada, a high school student inspired a worldwide social media craze when he advertised his #ProjectKris party in Calgary.

And it looks like another South Florida "project party" is scheduled for this weekend in Davie. Watch the below YouTube invite:
