Jennie Garth, Peter Facinelli Split: Is There A 'Beverly Hills, 90210' Stars Divorce Curse? (PHOTOS)

It seems like it was just yesterday that Jennie Garth was playing Kelly Taylor, the popular high school girl forever falling in and out of love with proverbial bad boy, Dylan, on "Beverly Hills, 90210." Maybe that's why Tuesday's news that Garth and real-life love Peter Facinelli are headed for divorce after 11 years and three daughters together took us by surprise.

But this won't be Garth's first divorce -- her marriage to Daniel Clark ended in 1996 after two years together. And Garth will hardly be the first "90210"-er to divorce, either. In fact, the West Beverly Hills High School-crowd is so prone to splits, that a few years back, E! Online wondered if many in the group might be under the divorce curse cast by "90210" alum Shannen Doherty, whose short-lived marriage to actor Ashley Hamilton in 1993 was followed by an even shorter-lived second marriage to Rick Salomon 10 years later.

• Shannen Doherty

  In 1993, at the height of her "90210" fame, Shannen Doherty, then 22, surprised friends and fans when <a href="http://www.people.com/people/archive/article/0,,20106439,00.html" target="_hplink">she married 19-year-old Ashley Hamilton</a> in a Sept. 24 backyard wedding ceremony. • Tori Spelling

  Tori Spelling and ex-husband Charlie Shanian <a href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,1117511,00.html" target="_hplink">split in October 2005</a>, a mere 15 months after they wed in an estimated $1-million ceremony. The divorce came amidst reports of <a href="http://www.eonline.com/news/marc_malkin/toris_former_hubby_tells_his_side_of/59133" target="_hplink">Spelling's affair</a> with married costar Dean McDermott, whom she'd go <a href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,1191681,00.html" target="_hplink">on to marry in May 2006</a>. Today, the couple has <a href="http://todayentertainment.today.com/_news/2012/08/31/13588014-tori-spelling-dean-mcdermott-welcome-their-fourth-child?lite" target="_hplink">four children together</a> and stars in the reality show "Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood."

• Luke Perry

  Luke Perry, who portrayed "90210's" resident bad boy Dylan McKay, <a href="http://www.people.com/people/archive/article/0,,20106906,00.html" target="_hplink">married furniture saleswoman Minnie Sharp</a> in November 1993, breaking the hearts of teen girls everywhere in the process. In May 2003, <a href="http://www.eonline.com/news/luke_perry_splitsville_90210/45069" target="_hplink">E! Online reported</a> that the couple were divorcing after ten years of marriage and two children. Today, the still-single Perry is <a href="http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000580/" target="_hplink">appearing in films and television</a> and, apparently, posing for endless <a href="http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/the-21-best-portraits-of-luke-perry-at-dragoncon" target="_hplink">photos with fans</a>.

• Ian Ziering

  Ian Ziering's first marriage to "Price Is Right" model and former Playboy playmate <a href="http://www.people.com/people/archive/article/0,,20136667,00.html" target="_hplink">Nikki Schieler ended in 2002</a> after five years together. In June 2010, the actor gave marriage another go, <a href="http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-body/news/pic-90210s-ian-ziering-weds-201016" target="_hplink">wedding Erin Ludwig</a> in front of several "90210" alumni.

• Jason Priestley

  Jason Priestley's <a href="http://www.usatoday.com/life/people/2005-05-18-priestley-weds_x.htm?POE=LIFISVA" target="_hplink">first marriage</a>, to makeup artist Ashlee Peterson, ended in 2000 after less than a year together. In May 2005, Priestley <a href="http://www.usatoday.com/life/people/2005-05-18-priestley-weds_x.htm?POE=LIFISVA" target="_hplink">married longtime girlfriend Naomi Lowde</a>, who coincidentally, is also a makeup artist. When you're speaking of most Hollyweird marriages you're talking about swelled-headed, egocentric people with aggressive self-confidence to begin with. Then, you have actors who are on the pipe, who take little blue "happy pills" to cope, and who drink Jim Beam like water marrying one another; consequently, you have all these subsets of jacked up people heading for divorce court in no time. Further, not all but way too many celebrity unions are based upon shallowness and opportunity for more publicity. And, if I'm not mistaken, didn't Heidi Klum gleefully note that it was the size of Seal's hootie-hoo that first drew her unto him? Finally, as far as Kelly Ripa & Mark Consuelos's marriage, I wouldn't give this low-end, D-level celebrity couple 40 cents for its future.

There's no curse. It's just a sign of societies state. More then 50% of ALL divorces end in divorce. We live in a "throw away" society. No one knows how to work things out or feel like they should even take the time to try. There was a time in our history when very few couples divorced and if someone gave you their "word" and a hand shake you could take it to the bank. Today we need teams of lawyers and contracts to do anything.

Yes certainly its a Curse--Its the people who are a Curse on themselves, they talk so high about achievements and yet they fail to keep their marriage into harmony. Marriage is a Social contract, and both have to make efforts to make it a success. But those who look for perfection will obviously fall into the trap of Divorce. It is the un intelligent people who find Divorce as the most convenient way and try to find short cuts through it. Now the lady has finally decided for a divorce with a family behind, but only ask her will there will be a perfect person for her the next time she decide to marry? will she nor have conflicts with her next husband or a boyfriend? Yes 100% there will be so why not stick to one person. One has to make an effort and sacrifice a lot to make a relationship work out, as it involves others life too----
