Kayla Lyons, Missing Michigan Girl, Likely Bus-Bound To Huntington Beach

Kayla Lyons, 16, of Michigan went missing early on Wednesday in Fullerton, Calif.

A 16-year-old who ran away from her sister while on vacation in California may be on a bus headed toward Huntington Beach, police said in a new press release.

Kayla Lyons, of Michigan, was in Fullerton visiting her sister on Wednesday when she reportedly ran off near Gilbert Street and Orangethorpe Avenue at about 1:25 a.m. and boarded a bus, the Orange County Register reported.

It's unclear why she ran away or exactly when she may have boarded the bus, but she is without medication she needs for "psychological and medical issues," according to the release.

Now cops are looking for any information that would lead to her safe return.

Lyons is described as being a 5-foot, 95 pound girl with blond hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue sweater, dark blue v-neck shirt, blue jeans and black sandals.

Police bloodhounds were called into service on Wednesday to help find the teen, but with no results so far.

Anyone with information about the girl or her whereabouts is asked to call Fullerton Police Detective Kathryn Hamel at 714-738-5327 or 714-738-6716.

She boarded the bus on her own. I did the same thing at her age and never did go back home. That was the 70s. The only meds I was on were self-prescribed. If she's on meds, unless it's for a life threatening illness or paranoid schizophrenia, she'll probably survive the adventure without them.

First I have ZERO attraction to what I would consider a little girl. I am a 32 year old MAN and like WOMEN. Typically I find women most sexy when they get to their 40s. Confident and smart and lived. Now you may want to take a look of the hundreads and hundreads of comments I have made on here and see what you find with my feelings with women. I have the utmost respect for women and do NOT think of them purely as sexual objects nor am I a creepy guy who likes young girls. That said it is not hard to notice somthing that sits right below a persons face and are large and half uncovered. I have no problem with women dressing as they please and don't feel it says anything about THEM. But they are right there. I work with a guy who always has super freaky tight jeans on and dude either stuffs or has a massive member. I don't want him. I am not staring at his junk. It's just kind of hard not to notice. I am not a breast man anyway. First I am a brain man second a hips and rear man.

I recently was dealing with a missing child she was visiting her sister a couple thousand miles from home and ran away in the night after an argument with her sister. I used Facebook and my friends and their friends to get the word out and we got national coverage. She was found and is now safe; First off I want to thank Facebook for playing its huge part in making this happen. Now for the other part of my reason for writing this Would it be possible to place a small box on every home page in Facebook that automatically rotates missing children’s faces from the missing child network I’m sure the idea has been looked at but from my point of view Facebook can be used for many things but nothing as rewarding as bring your child home safe. Please consider this suggestion and know your part in saving my daughter’s life Kayla Lyons her missing person stories can be found with a simple Google search of her name. Thank you again

There seems to be a sentiment of hostility from some minorities regarding the public outcry to find a young,blond,caucasian girl. I don't profess to understand discrimination 1st hand,because I never experienced it.However, I certainly hope the vast majority of Americans are as truly "color blind"as myself in that all innocent,young girls deserve our care,nurturing,love and support. It is indeed disheartening to continuously bear witness to all the hate,and injustice in the world we live. It's time for a revamped,global United Nations whose main objective is to prohibit violence and the persecution of innocent people.

Usually it has more to do with the fact that whenever there is a missing female reported in the news, she's typically young, blond, Caucasian, and also very attractive. It's what brings in viewers.

Where were all these people when a little black girl went missing in L.A. In 2005?

Her family called 911 and they did nothing. Then a day later she was found shoot in the head and put on a mattress which they then set on fire. And No, she was not a drug crazed gang member, she was a 14 year old girl missing coming home from school and the l.a. Cops did nothing! Nothing!

Do the research and you will find what I am saying is true. Fair is fair.

I feel for your situation but the two are not even in the same time frame this is 2012. Facebook has an audience of 845 million her family did not have the resources I found whether we were white black or purple we all have access to social media now and I can only suggest people use it to benefit the missing instead of spending all there time reading through these post I think the FAIR IS FAIR comment is out of line look at these statistics of the internet 2005 to 2009 and just look at the user numbers for 2012

Um yeah if she is on a Bus they would know in a few minutes as you must show picture id now to ride buses like greyhound so call dispatch who radio the bus who checks for girl described and asks for id done. pretty safe bet she is not on a bus and more then likely will be grabbed and forced into prostitution or killed.
