March Madness: Southern Mississippi Band Chants 'Where's Your Green Card' At Kansas State Player Angel Rodriguez (VIDEO)

The ugly side of sports was on display at the first-round NCAA tournament game between Kansas State and Southern Mississippi game Thursday, when Kansas State point guard Angel Rodriguez was subjected to chants of "Where's your Green Card" from the Southern Miss. band.

Big Lead Sports notes that Rodriguez is from Puerto Rico, making him a U.S. citizen.

Manhattan Mercury reporter Cole Manbeck, who was on the scene, tweeted that the band had taken "things way too far".

And what's the proper response to the fact that USM's President apologized so quickly, albeit with a slight typo? : "Well done, Madame President, but please don't forget your promise to discipline the offenders, because we'll be watching"? or "Dangit, just like one of them francophiluten French majors to give in so dang early."? my family is from deep southwest mississippi,since 1831 and this kind of thing (in a seemingly endless series) makes me ashamed of it. I mention it only so you know I'm not some carpetbagger.
