Newt Gingrich Tells Illinois Audience Bible Encourages His Candidacy

Newt Gingrich Bible

Republican presidential candidate New Gingrich cited the Book of Proverbs as a reason for staying in what the polls and many political pundits are calling a losing race.

"I've stayed in the race because I think that Proverbs is right ... 'without vision, people perish,'" the GOP presidential candidate said, paraphrasing Proverbs 29:18.

Gingrich told the hundreds gathered Thursday inside a chapel at Judson University in Elgin that it is important to have a leader with "big ideas."

He should bring back the space mirrors project, or make a death ray by launching a huge magnifying glass into orbit and use it to burn entire countries.

And have the chinese build a wall to keep out the illegals that you can see from the moon, the 51st state of America.

I love his big ideas. They make me feel like a genius.

Just made for the Newt, here's Arthur Clough's take on the Ten Commandments:

The Latest Decalogue
Thou shalt have one God only; who
Would be at the expense of two?
No graven images may be
Worshipped, except the currency:
Swear not at all; for, for thy curse
Thine enemy is none the worse:
At church on Sunday to attend
Will serve to keep the world thy friend:
Honour thy parents, that is, all
From whom advancement may befall;
Thou shalt not kill; but need'st not strive
Officiously to keep alive:
Do not adultery commit;
Advantage rarely comes of it:
Thou shalt not steal; an empty feat,
When it's so lucrative to cheat:
Bear not false witness; let the lie
Have time on its own wings to fly:
Thou shalt not covet, but tradition
Approves all forms of competition.

I was watching South Park the other night and I swear Cartman is like the young Newt Gingrich.

Proverbs in particular warns against too much ego as well.

So selling pot to women should be supported by Newt and San'torum.

Well at least there was not a verbal dialoge between Newton and God. Not like some of the past Rep candidates that said they were told directly to run. At least Newt can read the book, or the portions that he likes anyway.

Just makes the point that you can make the bible "say" anything you want it to. Self-proclaimed biblical scholar Liddle Newtnik, needs to take a hard look at the seven deadly sins, especially greed, pride, and above all, lust.
