Florida Man Charged In Beating Of Son's Romantic Rival

A teenage love triangle allegedly prompted a father-son beat down in southern Florida, police said.

On Monday, authorities in Melbourne, a city located about 70 miles southeast of Orlando, arrested Robert Dale Teague, 55, and his 16-year-old son. The elder Teague has been charged with child abuse, while his son is accused of aggravated battery.

According to Melbourne Police, Teague and his son were riding in a vehicle that stopped at the intersection of West Eau Gallie Boulevard and Arnold Drive in Melbourne. While stopped at the intersection, Teague's son allegedly spotted a 16-year-old rival whom he was involved in a dispute over a mutual love interest.

Teague's son jumped out of the vehicle and got in a fight with the 16-year-old. Teague himself then exited the vehicle and tackled the 17-year-old. During the scuffle, Teague's son allegedly stabbed his rival in the arm with a screwdriver, police said.

None of the individuals were seriously injured during the fight.
