Sales of coral jeans have reportedly already soared in England after the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, donned a pair to play field hockey on Thursday.

Style fans were already fawning over Middleton's Pucci blazer and chic coral jeans, but Kate delighted us further when she changed into a hoodie and Adidas tennis shoes to play a quick game of field hockey, keeping the orange pants on the whole time.

And.... cue trend!

England's Daily Express reports that sales of 14-pound colored denim jeans at Asda, a British clothing store, rose by a whopping 88 percent.

Fiona Lambert, a brand director for Asda's George clothing line, projects the trend will continue to soar, telling the Mirror: “Wearing bright colours lifts us all and now we have the royal seal of approval for coloured denim from Kate Middleton, we know this is going to be the hot trend this summer.”

Kate's no stranger to setting off shopping frenzies: a Burberry trench coat she once donned sold out in a day, and her penchant for wearing styles by Reiss may have led to the store's revenue spike in 2011.

Of course, colored jeans were already one of spring 2012's hottest trends. Pippa Middleton, Kate's oft-photographed sister, donned red jeans back in January, and celebs from Jessica Alba and Drew Barrymore to Jennifer Lopez have been spotted in Easter egg-hued bottoms.

If you have some spare change and want to nab the Duchess' actual jeans, Kate's are made by JBrand and cost $169.

We'll keep our eyes peeled to the U.S. fashion scene to see if any American ladies are feverishly scooping up their own pairs of colored denim. In the meantime, check out Kate's trend-sparking pants below!
