Famous Post 50s With Irish Roots

Which Post 50s Celebrities Have Irish Roots?

Have you ever wondered which of your favorite celebrities have a wee bit (or even a whole lot) of Irish in them?

Actors Liam Neeson and Kenneth Branagh are not the only post 50s celebrities born in the Emerald Isle. We found quite a few -- as well as famous post 50s who have Irish ancestors.

In fact, one of the most famous Americans just learned he had Irish roots. In 2011, President Barack Obama took a trip to Moneygall, Ireland, after discovering that his great-great-great-grandfather, Fulmoth Kearney, once called Moneygall his home.

To honor those of Irish descent, President Obama has declared the month of March Irish-American Heritage Month. So check out the slideshow below to see which celebrities share his Irish heritage, and vote for your favorite!
