WASHINGTON -- D.C.'s cherry blossoms will be in full floral form this week after weeks of above-normal temperatures and plenty of anticipation of when exactly peak bloom will be.

The Tidal Basin remains the top destination for seeing the pink and white blossoms and this past weekend, thousands of people swarmed the area near the trees and clogged roadways in West Potomac Park.

To deal with the traffic conditions, the National Park Service has made Ohio Drive along the Potomac River northbound only, meaning there will be no vehicular access to West Potomac Park from Independence Avenue.

With all the limited access, you're best to leave the car at home and use Metrorail or Capital Bikeshare.

But there are other scenic cherry blossom spots in the area worth checking out that may be somewhat more accessible and just as beautiful.

The Kenwood subdivision in Bethesda, Md., has been known for years for its 1,200 Yoshino trees that beautifully frame the residential neighborhood in pink and white at peak bloom. The Huffington Post checked the area out on Saturday and found that the cherry blossoms there were nearly ready to head into their full floral spectacle.

Check out our slideshow of what we saw.
