Malibu Beating Death: Man Dies Of Respiratory Disease Outside Guido's Malibu (UPDATE)

UPDATE: Death At Malibu Village Was Natural

Sunday night, a kitchen worker at Guido's was found beaten to death outside the restaurant in the Malibu Village on Cross Creek Road. The identity of the young man has not yet been released, but KTLA reports his name was Carlos and he was thirty-two.

The victim was taking out the trash near around 9:45 pm when he was attacked by an unknown number of suspects, reports CBS Local. After the beating, the victim reportedly staggered to the front of the restaurant before collapsing.

The body will be examined Tuesday, reports the Los Angeles Times. Motive has not yet been determined.

Carlos Ivan Rodas "died from an upper respiratory disease," reports sheriff's detectives, according to Malibu Patch.

PREVIOUSLY UPDATED:

The coroner's office said that an autopsy is needed to determine the official cause of death. "This is an ongoing investigation, and we will learn more when the autopsy is conducted," Steve Whitmore of the sheriff's department said. "It is possible that this young man died of natural causes," contrary to what was previously reported.
