'Alcatraz': Madsen Realizes Lucy May Be The Key

While Hauser has been running a campaign of his own on "Alcatraz" (Mon., 9 p.m. ET on Fox), Madsen and Doc have been working largely in the dark. What little he does give them is often just tantalizing glimpses into what he knows. Viewers know that Lucy was a psychiatrist working on the Rock in the 1960s, where she first met a younger Hauser, as well as knowing all about Hauser's New Alcatraz and the modern-day presence of Dr. Beauregard.

With next week's two-hour season finale looming, the intrepid pair stumbled upon a key piece of the puzzle, though how much it will help them remains to be seen. Lucy has been a key figure since the beginning, but she's also been in a coma. Recently, Beauregard learned that the blood of a '63 that had been "treated" on Alcatraz may save her life, but they needed to find a match.

That came this week in the form of Webb Porter, one of Lucy's patients. He want from a man tortured by a ringing in his hears to a violin virtuoso through her treatment. In the modern era, he harbored fantasies of playing at the Philharmonic, while at the same time kidnapping women with long hair he could use to string his bows, and then drowning them when his dreams were dashed because he couldn't read music, or whatever other obstacles came along.

In the end, he proved a fairly easy capture for Madsen and Hauser, and he was more than happy to play along in donating blood to Lucy. Back on Alcatraz, after she'd helped him with her music therapy, he said, "Maybe one day I'll be able to return the favor." It took nearly 50 years, but it looks like he did, as the episode closed with her eyes opening.

Find out which questions get answered, and which new ones get raised as "Alcatraz" wraps its season with a two-hour finale next Monday at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
