Fox News' Dick Morris Reprimanded For Auctioning Off Network Tour At GOP Fundraiser

Fox News contributor Dick Morris is in hot water for auctioning off a personal tour of the network's New York City headquarters.

Morris was the keynote speaker at a fundraiser dinner for the Lake County Republicans in Florida on March 9. The Orlando Sentinel reports that he offered himself up as a personal tour guide for a visit to the Fox News studios in New York City.

The item sold for $6,000, and the Lake County Republicans thanked Morris for his efforts on their website. However, Fox News has canceled the event and scolded the pundit for the move.

Bill Shine, the network's executive vice president of programming, told TVNewser that the network did not know about Morris' offer. "The tour will absolutely not take place nor would something like that have ever taken place if we were aware of it," he stressed. He said that he reprimanded Morris on Monday.

For his part, Morris said that the item was "a private, personal offer" that had not been approved by Fox News. He reportedly apologized and admitted that he made a mistake.
