Ann Romney Releases 'Love Letter' Video For Mitt

Ann Romney, the Romney campaign's secret weapon in trying to humanize Mitt, released online on Wednesday a video to wish her husband a happy anniversary.

The Romneys were married 43 years ago on March 21, 1969, and Ann Romney jokes in the video that she has had a "grasp" on him ever since. Because Romney is a candidate considered by many to be robotic and out of touch, his wife's touches and the family stories she tells help paint a picture that he is, at least in some senses, a regular guy.

"I think Mitt now will say that I dug it in really, really deep, and he’s never been able to escape the grasp that I got ahold of him," she says.

The two began dating when she was 16, she says; she also describes the love letters the two exchanged when he was abroad for his Mormon mission. When he returned, their parents said they were too young to be married, but Ann and Mitt talked them into it and then had a simple wedding, she says.

Now, "the love story continues," the video concludes in text. "Happy Anniversary!"

For his part, presidential candidate Mitt Romney wished his wife a happy anniversary through Twitter:
