Casey Anthony Baptism
Casey Anthony smiles during a July 2011 court apperance in Orlando, Florida.

Casey Anthony is turning to God.

The 26-year-old Florida woman, who was found not guilty of murdering her 2-year-old daughter Caylee, plans to be baptized, an "insider" tells Radar.

The ritual will take place "sometime this month" and is part of Casey's transition to a new, post-trial life, according to The Hollywood Gossip.

"Casey believes that Caylee is with God now and wants to ensure her own salvation so that she'll see her daughter again someday," the source said.

Anthony's trial caught national attention and sparked outrage. She had initially told police that her daughter was abducted. The child's remains were later found in a wooded area near her home.

During her trial, her lawyer told the jury that Caylee actually drowned in a swimming pool. Anthony is currently on parole on an unrelated matter.

In January, Anthony released a webcam video of herself discussing life after the trial.

"It's just a little surreal how much things have changed since July and how many things haven't changed," she said in the video, referring to the trial verdict. "But the good thing is that things are starting to look up and things are starting to change in a good way. I just hope that things stay good and that they only get better."

The video remains one of the only public appearances by Anthony following her heavily covered trial approximately nine months ago. The footage shows Anthony in a new hairstyle, holding a puppy and wearing a nose ring.

people like this use religion to trick people...i wouldn't rust her, she is just trying to gain sympathy for what she has went though. her daughter rotted and was eaten by animals, while she was laid up having marathon sex...probably on meth, getting off while her baby was being eaten by animals chewing those babies bones to the marrow. How does a person do things like have sex, and party... these after a child death...murder rather, she probably held her head under, the water to get rid of her, she had no baby sitter that night you know. /She was being mean at walmart, towards the child in the video, she went home mad and killer her baby for a month of sex and god knows what.

Why is this under Huff Crime and not the Religion page ? Her big wrap sheet is lying to the police and writing stolen checks . She was tried but never convicted of a murder charge and isn't part of the record . So its about a woman that wants to be baptized .Nothing more .

Put it under WEIRD news.
Not that getting baptized is weird, but people get baptized everyday
. Nothing special about Casey Anthony. .
12:31 PM on 03/25/2012
I agree. But baptism has to have meaning. Did she go to church first before making this decision? Did she accept Christ, a central criteria for baptism, for it is in the name of God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Ghost? Is this a publicity stunt that is wholly without merit or meaning? Does she think that putting this out there will somehow wash away the stain of possibly (probably) having killed her child, accidental or not? This sure smacks of a publicity stunt at the very least, and is blasphemy if it is not sincere. That Williamabn seems to be obsessed with her, or maybe he knows her personally and has the informed answered to these questions.

Because it's not about "religion".

It's about a convicted felon who, because of her own chosen actions, will be remembered as 1) a mother who lied to law enforcement and committed check fraud all the while knowing her child was dead and decomposing in the woods, and 2) a mother who will never be held legally responsible in the death of her child ...although most believe she is culpable at some level.

So , any felon should fall under the scrutiny of the public before a Church should honor a Baptismal ceremonial and the public's wish's should come first ? Her theft and check fraud charges will be finished and paid for when probation is up . She was found not guilty , End of story . You don't accept that and want to run her thru a meat grinder . I to know she has culpability , But don't know at what extent . I think she's a deplorable human being and I don't give a damn if you believe me .But with the evidence I will not point a finger and say " Murderer " , That's on me , If you do , That's on you . God has the finale justice in this not me or you and bad mouthing won't change a thing . I God gives forgiveness for her or anyone it between them and God .

sunnydayz20118, I question a part of your comment"...although most believe she is culpable at some level" Please explain what you consider "MOST", are you speaking of the small handfull of people posting here on Huffpost? If so, that is an extremely tiny overview of the general population. In general it is the Same people who have negative comments regarding Casey Anthony, and only show up here when Huffpost runs something new regarding CA. You know as well as I do that the State of Florida, represented by Mr. Ashton and friends, Did in fact hold her legally responsible for the death of her child, and in as much, she was found Not Guilty of that crime in a legal court of Law. Do you advocate that she should be tried again and again, until a jury is found that would convict her?? That is simply not the American way, and it is pure nonsense. In truth my friend, neither You nor I know what happened to little Caylee. To call someone a murderer without total proof, is simply wrong, and that is a Fact.

Have a great day

And they feel no shame remorse or guilt when the boldly say someone is a this or that without any proof , Just supposition , Rumor and assumption . Not guilty , And they won't accept it . They hide there bad behavior by saying justice for Caylee , But its a cover up for there venom and deep seeded hate . Some Humans .. Hea ?

Not true, Piper.

Jesus spoke at length on forgiveness in the Sermon on the Mount.

“Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.” Matthew 5:23-24 (NIV)

Important is the instruction to "FIRST go and be reconciled to your brother...". If you believe reconciliation with God (in seeking forgiveness) includes a truthful confession of your sin(s)...the same must hold true for reconciliation with your brother. There exists but one standard for reconciliation...not one for your brother and one for God. Jesus clearly illustrated that seeking forgiveness from each other was paramount to seeking forgiveness from the Father.

So you are speaking for what you believe in, I don't speak for any God, no clue how you read that in my comment.. I believe in a God that will hold you accountable for your actions. Eye for an eye.

she murdered her daughter and until she admits it and begs for forgivness then pays for her crime; her baptism is nothing more than an attempt to make her more appealing to the public. She is ready to get more attention, why go public with it? She could have done it privately but she likes the attention and in my opinion that fake as heck.
