Nigerian Woman's Record Setting Amount Of Stomach Smuggled Heroin (PHOTO)

Posted: 03/21/2012 6:20 pm Updated: 03/21/2012 6:20 pm

Want to get noticed for a rock-solid stomach? Try ingesting almost five pounds of heroin pellets.

During a patdown, customs agents spotted a Nigerian woman at a D.C.-area airport on March 14 who had what was described as an "abnormally rigid" stomach, by U.S. Custom and Border Protection officials.

Security personel working at Washington Dulles International Airport became more suspicious of 52-year-old Bola Adebisi when she gave vague answers about her destination, according to authorities

That led to a brief, forced stay in a nearby hospital where an X-ray allegedly revealed that 180 drug-filled pellets gave her the firm tummy.

Adebisi was hospitalized until she passed all the drugs, which weighed in at 4 pounds, 12 ounces -- touted as the largest bellyful of drugs found in the D.C.-area.

Customs officials put the street value of the drugs at $180,000.

This seizure crushes the previous record, set by in 2011 when Yomade Aborishade, 46, of Lagos, Nigeria expelled 100 pellets with a combined weight slightly over four pounds.

“The amount of pellets and heroin this woman ingested is incredible, a serious health risk, and very troubling if these numbers become the new normal,” CBP Port Director for the Port of Washington, D.C. Christopher Hess said in a press release. “We’re hopeful that this arrest sends a strong signal that CBP officers are proving to be successful at detecting internal concealment methods, and that we remain committed to working with our law enforcement partners and intercepting this deadly poison before it can reach our communities.”

Adebisi faces criminal charges.

Here we go again. Another orgy of Nigeria bashing. With a population of over 150 million souls, you're bound to hear a lot about US. I say us because indeed, I'm one of the good for nothing Nigerians that everyone's so cheesed off about. Oh, but wait a minute, I've never scammed anyone in my life, neither have I been bundled off to hospital and forced to excrete a boatload of drugs.

Get real people. Most Nigerians can barely get together enough money to get themselves to work and provide for their families let alone pay for an air ticket to the United States, so obviously she's just a pawn which doesn't absolve her of guilt for her crime.

I suppose all the criminals in western jails are Nigerians or are most of them (gasp!) Americans, British, French etc? Or maybe it was a Nigerian that stole my purse in London's West End. The Western nations must be populated by angels. I envy you.

Don't make the exceptions the rule. Most of us are hardworking, industrious (a few not in a good way!) and very friendly. If you want to read a bit about Nigerian women head over to http://www.forngerianwomen.com. Start a topic or reply to one. You may just learn something new if you'll let yourself.

Don't seem to get much media coverage about how Big Oil walked in and trashed Nigeria. Deposed the leader and replaced him with a company man, hired armed thugs to keep the complaints down, left open pipes dripping at depleted wells and test holes that polluted lakes and streams all over the country, and contributed absolutely nothing -- zip, nada, zilch -- to the average Nigerians. But one woman got caught in customs and it's a national hoo-haw...

Interesting in the post-Luna era since I just got around to reading about old Kevin Hilliard & Baltimore policeman Daniel Redd being busted in connection with a Nigerian heroin ring in 2011.

Still wondering if N W Thomas's wife is the sister of President Kibaki's, now deceased, lawyer.

Guess they use Nigerian ninjas on those Federal buildings after midnight.

One more item for your pre-flight regime is to stop going to the gym at least 15 days beforehand. Also make a habit of visiting the donut shop at least three times a week. If your work requires you to fly frequently, you might as well accept that life is against you and drink a sixpack instead of striving for one. Only YOU can prevent pat-downs!

Once it gets to its destination it is 'stomped on' by adding more stuff to it to get more sales from it.

I'm sure the dollar amount would far exceed what is initially predicted.

Where I live the feds value drugs at about 3-4 times the value you could buy at street level.
I am surprised they did not value these at about $700,00 plus.

I don't think it would be slow and agonizing. Depending upon how quickly the stuff leaked, she could just end up falling asleep and never waking up.
