Rosie O'Donnell In Negotiations To Join Broadway Cast Of 'Annie'

Rosie O'Donnell Headed To Broadway

Rosie O’Donnell is wasting no time finding her next job now that her OWN Network talk show has been canned. I'm told the comedian is getting ready to return to Broadway, playing the iconic Miss Hannigan in the revival of "Annie."

"Ro loves Broadway and is super excited about playing the part,” a friend of Rosie’s tells me. “The paperwork hasn’t been signed yet but the negotiations are well under way. This is a great role that she will be able to sink her teeth into and will get her back to acting and performing live, which has always been her first love.”

Rosie is no stranger to The Great White Way. She starred in "Fiddler on the Roof" with Harvey Fierstein, played Rizzo in "Grease," headlined in "Seussical" and has even hosted the Tony Awards twice.

Her fan and fellow Broadway gal Kristin Chenoweth was among the first to express support for Rosie in the wake of OWN's announcement about the talk show. "Thats show biz," Rosie tweeted back, "and i am happy to have had the chance and now to be back home in ny ------ maybe broadway."

"We have no comment on casting at this time," a producer of the show tells me.
