Whoopi Goldberg Directing Moms Mabley Documentary

Whoopi Goldberg's New Gig

Whoopi Goldberg is a very busy lady.

In addition to her daily hosting duties on ABC's "The View," and her producing involvement in the Broadway hit "Sister Act," Goldberg is directing a documentary.

The film is about African-American comedian Moms Mabley and titled, "I Got Somethin' To Tell You," after her 1963 album. Goldberg, who was inspired by Mabley as a fellow comedian, told Variety that the documentary will focus on Mabley's impact and legacy.

The ABC daytime show often allows its hosts to engage in other projects, providing them with a lot of flexibility. Barbara Walters continues her job at ABC News. Most recently, Walters flew to Syria for an interview with Syrian President Bashaar Al-Assad. Co-host Sherri Shepherd is a contestant on ABC's 14th season of "Dancing With The Stars," and continues her acting career. Joy Behar had her own HLN show, which was canceled in November. In addition to authoring best selling cookbooks, co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck is a correspondent for ABC's "Good Morning America."
