The fact that mermaids are half human may seem like a good reason to attempt to get them into bed, but according to mermaid expert Carolyn Turgeon, there are plenty of drawbacks, including, "Constantly competing with the ocean, and all its mysteries and wonders, for her attention, which can be very exhausting" and "Having to carry her around all the time, or push her about in a wheelchair or wheelbarrow."

Mermaids are generally cute. Werewolves are hot and hairy. Heck, even the Loch Ness Monster can be cute depending on the light.

But that doesn't mean you should date one.
