'Smash' Episode 8 Preview: Meet Eileen's Daughter Played By Grace Gummer (VIDEO)

WATCH: Streep's Daughter On 'Smash'

The workshop is over on "Smash," so it's time to relax, right? Wrong.

In "The Coup" (Mon., March 16 at 10 p.m. ET on NBC), Derek (Jack Davenport) asks for Karen's (Katharine McPhee) help while working with potential new lyricists. Meanwhile, Eileen (Anjelica Huston) finds time to settle into her new hip Lower East Side apartment with the help of her new best friend, Ellis, and ... her daughter?

In this exclusive sneak peek, Eileen's daughter Katie, played by Grace Gummer -- who is Meryl Streep's daughter -- comes home just as Eileen is just getting settled into her new -- and very bare -- apartment.

"No, actually I don't want any of that old stuff," Eileen tells Ellis when he asks to check on the movers. "No, I think it's pretty like this. It's airy, light." Eileen's ready to ditch the old stuff and move on from her marriage ... then Katie shows up.

Here's how NBC describes the episode.

The team deals with the aftermath of the workshop. Ivy (Megan Hilty) remains in the dark about her fate, while Derek (Jack Davenport) recruits Karen (Katharine McPhee) to help him steal the musical from Tom and Julia (Christian Borle and Debra Messing). Eileen (Anjelica Huston) must face up to her ex-husband, Jerry (guest star Michael Cristofer), when their daughter Katie (guest star Grace Gummer) pays a surprise visit from India. Raza Jaffrey, Brian d’Arcy James and Jaime Cepero also star. Grace Gummer, Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic and Michael Cristofer guest star.
