Michael P. Murphy, Fallen Navy SEAL, 'Buys' Beers On St. Patrick's Day Thanks To Jeff Beaurline (PHOTO)

In an effort to pay tribute to a fallen soldier, Jeff Beurline placed a cold Guinness on a bar in Newtown, Conn., along with a sign that read, "Reserved for: LT Michael P. Murphy, U.S. Navy SEAL. Killed in action, 28 June 2005, Afghanistan. NEVER FORGOTTEN."

In response to the tear-jerking gesture, the bar owner and other guests decided to take the tribute to a new level.

Beurline posted a photo of the pint to the Facebook group Seal of Honor, along with a caption detailing what followed:

"As promised... I just walked into a local pub (PUB 25, Newtown, CT) and asked to speak with the Owner/Manager. I asked if I could leave a cold one on the bar for Michael all day . I showed him the "Reserved" sign I made and explained I wanted to leave him sufficient funds to buy a random person a Guinness every hour today, and that when the surprised patron asks him "Who is this from?" he should reply: "It's from LT Michael P. Murphy." and point to the reserved sign. The Owner/Manager was so in tune with this small gesture, he refused my money, introduced me to two men working in the PUB who just returned home from Afghanistan and Iraq with the ASSURANCE that my request on Michael's behalf would be honored. God Bless America!"

Lt. Michael P. Murphy, or "Murph," died on June 28, 2005, during a two-hour firefight with Taliban fighters near Asadabad, Afghanistan.

Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell was the only survivor, managing to evade the attackers for a day before locals found and carried him to a nearby village where he was reunited with U.S. forces.
