'Game Of Thrones' Season 2: More Character Portraits Released (PHOTOS)

As if the frenzied anticipation for Season 2 of HBO's "Game of Thrones" weren't intense enough, now things are going to reach a fever pitch.

In addition to the portraits published last week, HBO posted several character photos -- many of them new characters who we've never seen before. Featured from episodes 1, 2, 3, 5 and 8, fans of "Game of Thrones" can catch a glimpse of the actors playing the characters from the uber-popular George R.R. Martin novels.

Aside from the characters we already know from Season 1 (Daenerys Targaryen, Samwell Tarly, Jaime Lannister, and all the rest), we get a first glimpse wild beauty Ygritte (Rose Leslie), mysterious Melisandre (played by Carice van Houten), the boyish Gendry (Joe Dempsie) and the stunning king-lover Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer).

It may still be winter, but the heat from the photos below is enough to keep us warm until the show starts up again on Sun., April 1 at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.
