'Sweet-Toothed Ghost' Haunts Australian Supermarket (VIDEO)

Sweettoothed Ghost
Security cameras show this box of Fruit Roll-Ups being flung mysteriously by an unknown force.

Paranormal investigators may have a startling new piece of information to use in their never-ending quest to make contact with ghosts: They have a thing for Fruit Roll-Ups.

Well, at least an alleged apparition in Brompton, South Australia, does.

A startling new security camera video taken at the IGA store shows a pack of Fruit Roll-Ups being tossed, depending on who you talk to, between and 18 and 36 feet away from its original location -- despite no one being visible nearby.

Security cameras have shown how one box mysteriously jumped six meters from its original location on the floor of the IGA store in Adelaide, despite no one being present, according to Metro.co.uk.

When owner Norm Hurst bought the store in October, he was told to expect the unexpected.

"The previous owners told me it was haunted," Hurst told Adelaide Now. "I thought, 'Yeah, whatever.' But since we've owned the place, strange things have happened."

Hurst changed his tune last Thursday after security cameras picked up the footage of the Fruit Roll-Up being mysteriously flung past the past on to the floor.

"Strange," he drawled.

What's most shocking to Hurst is the vigor with which the Roll-Ups are flung, the Herald Sun reported.

"One of the cameras shows the packet of Roll-Ups just arriving on the ground ... it has not just slid off, it has been thrown out of the pasta, yet the Roll-Ups are kept 12 metres away," Hurst said.

What is causing the mysterious activity at the IGA is still unknown, but one theory offered by the stars of the Australian morning talk show Sunrise On 7 suggests it's connected with the 1998 death of a boxer who was gunned down on the sidewalk outside the store.

I wish my hometown was more active than it is now. It would be so much more interesting to go and visit and do some ghost hunting. I am not sure if my hometown is just so crammed full of OU fans that you never notice because the town is always packed or what

Weirdest darn things but it happens to me all the time. I've seen stuff fly off shelves in front of me...not just "fall" but really fly off the shelves. There is one store I go to that it has happened in the same aisle three times now when I'm there. As long as it doesn't fly AT me, I don't care. I just go about my business.

Ask the owners if you are the only person that has noticed this. If not, maybe they can set up a night camera or do some recordings.

I wish I had a camera with me during each paranormal experience I had while shopping. I've witnessed packaged items get tossed to the middle of the isle; the type of packages that are hung on metal hook displays. *upside down hooks that prevent items from sliding off on their own*.

Yup. Happens to me all the time, too! Stuff will just fly off a shelf when I'm alone in an aisle. And it doesn't just...fall...it flies off.

I've had far too many blatant paranormal experiences to write it all off as merely the mundane misperceived as the Ozzie geniuses do. "There are greater things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy." Energy cannot be destroyed. It can only change form. We are all the space-time continuum vibrating in a long ad intricate series of vibrations-within-vibrations. There is, in reality, nothing solid here. The universe is every bit as real as your dreams. For most people alive and most who have ever lived, a very bad dream.

There are any number of ways this could have been faked. As someone who has investigated dozens of alleged hauntings over thirty years, I will state that one single incident does not prove a haunting. There must be a pattern of events that defy normal explanations, over a long period of time.

I haven't read through the other comments, but am I the only one who noticed the 3 minute jump in the time right when the "ghost throw" happens?
It's fake.

It's motion activated recording. Still could have been edited, but that explains the time stamp jumping. I have similar camera setup at my store that records it that way to reduce video review and storage.

Good catch. Though it it makes me wonder what was moving at the 27 min mark that we couldn't see that made the cameras record. That makes me think there may be ways of avoiding being seen by the camera.

I don't see any "flinging." It looks like an item fell (or was knocked off by a mouse or even a bug if the item was precariously balanced) from a shelf, glanced off of another item or shelf and landed in the aisle. The shadow in the aisle shot that races toward the item is deceptive in that the foreground is brightly lit casting a dramatic shadow of a falling item. As for the item being far from where they're displayed that's nothing more than an item put in the wrong place by a customer who changed their mind and was then missed during store cleanup. If the item had been flung there then the slick, glossy box packaging would've skidded across the slick, tile floor. Instead the item hits and stops almost immediately. Everyone's saying "Ghost" when there's simple explanations for all of it. It's not like gravity stops working when we're not there to watch it. Come on, people, look at this logically and without trying to find a reason that it is a ghost, instead try to find reasons that it's not a ghost. Then if there's no other plausible explanations then look elsewhere. Truly sad. :(
