Russell Brand Reportedly Removes Matching Katy Perry Tattoo

Marriage is so rarely "till death do us part" anymore that any couple considering his and hers tattoos seems destined to have them removed faster than the ink can dry on their divorce papers.

Such appears to be true for the ill-fated marriage of Katy Perry and Russell Brand. The two debuted matching Sanskrit tattoos on their right inner arms that said, "Anuugacchati Pravaha," meaning "go with the flow," shortly after they became engaged in 2010.

HollywoodLife reports that Brand decided to go with the flow of divorce and made a late-night trip to Shamrock Tattoo on March 24 to remove the tattoo he got with Perry.

The couple shared a love of body art, even heading to the tattoo parlor together just weeks before Brand filed for divorce.

During Thanksgiving weekend, Perry added a smiling peppermint to her ankle, while Brand inked himself with the badge of his favorite soccer team, West Ham United. "It was her idea. It's always her idea," Brand told talk show host Jimmy Kimmel in early December. "She's always scribbling permanent things on my body for a laugh."

But proving that life imitates art (or that life just repeats itself), Perry even sings of an ex-boyfriend removing a tattoo they got together in her song "The One That Got Away."

The former couple had one of the most amicable divorces in Hollywood history, signing the divorce papers in early February. Brand refused to take the reported $20 million he was entitled to under California law.

Even if Brand wasn't removing the tattoo as reported, both parties appear to be moving on. Perry has been linked to model Baptiste Giabiconi and Brand is dating model Nikolett Barabas.
