'Dancing With The Stars': Martina Navratilova Looks On The Bright Side Of Her Early Exit (VIDEO)

Martina Looks On The Bright Side Of Her 'DWTS' Exit

The morning after she became the first contestant voted off Season 14 of "Dancing With the Stars," Martina Navratilova stopped by "Good Morning America" (weekdays, 7 a.m. ET on ABC) to reflect on the experience. The former tennis superstar kept it classy, and looked on the bright side of her brief stint on the dance competition.

"I learned that I'm not good enough to get upset, I learned I'm not good enough to cover up my mistakes. But most of all, I learned to have fun and just go for it," she reflected.

Through the experience, Navratilova gained what she called a "lifelong friendship" with her "DWTS" pro Tony Dovolani, who she said "made [her] feel like a princess every day." When Robin Roberts noted that they'd been tweeting pictures of themselves playing tennis and going skiing together, Navratilova said, "We had fun. What's life if you don't have fun?"

Navratilova hopes that her time on the show will help inspire her fellow retirees to continue leading active lives. "I'm a health and fitness ambassador for the AARP, and I try to challenge our members to do more with their life, and challenged myself in this way, and I'm glad that I did it and hopefully inspired people to do more in their life," she said.
