Joe Biden To Wisconsin: 'I Wish You Luck On Your Recall Efforts'

Biden

WASHINGTON -- Vice President Joe Biden gave his enthusiastic support to the effort to unseat Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) and other Republican state officials on Thursday while in the Badger State for a fundraiser.

According to the official pool report, Biden spoke to more than 150 Democratic activists, donors and politicians for more than 30 minutes at the Italian Community Center in Milwaukee. The vice president was introduced by former Democratic Gov. Jim Doyle, who was Walker's predecessor and decided not to seek reelection in 2010 after eight years in office.

Biden then praised Doyle, saying, "Oh, what a difference a governor makes! Elections have consequences, man, and nobody in the country knows that better than you here in Wisconsin and maybe our friends in Ohio.”

He then said, "I wish you luck on your recall efforts,” which reportedly drew "hearty applause."

Also on Thursday, Wisconsin's Government Accountability Board, which oversees elections in the state, recommended that the recall elections for Walker and Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch (R) move forward. The election officials determined that there were more than enough valid signatures collected to trigger the recalls.

Democrats are also trying to recall four Republican state senators. The accountability board had already said that there were enough signatures for those elections to proceed.

These recall elections are the next step in a campaign to oust Wisconsin state Republicans who pushed controversial budget legislation stripping state employees of their collective bargaining rights. In August 2011, Democrats successfully recalled two Republican state senators from office, but fell short of the three Republican losses needed to take control of the chamber.

On Friday, the GAB will be voting on whether to officially order the recall elections. If the board says yes, the primary election will be held on May 8 and the general election on June 5.

Nobody undergoes a "recall" lightly... Its alot of blood, sweat & tears to accomplish... to even begin to think about a "recall" you would have suffered a great mis representation of an elected official... Someone who ran on a different platform than the hidden agenda that was finally put to the people....

People dont like being LIED to....

Nice way for the federal government to support an elected Governor. Biden would be dangerous if he weren't so clownish.

TROLL ALERT - Move forward to read at your own risk. If you do take the chance and scroll down, please be prepared to see a barrage of grade-school type name-calling and one-line insults. This is the status-quot for those that blindly follow the Republican party. (and of course, those paid to post)

Wonder if Joe treated them to excerpts from his fictional novel, of how he was raised in a coal mining town.

As I have said before, the taxpayers in Wisconsin did a good thing by electing Walker who is doing exactly what he was elected to do and what he promised to do which is turn around the fiscal problems in the state and to create a more business friendly atmosphere to keep and attract new companies to create jobs for the citizens of Wisconsin. And, the statistics are showing that Walker is getting the job done as promised. Those pushing for the recall are the ones responsible for the problems in Wisconsin that Walker is on his way to fixing, which are the labor unions and the liberal politicians they control. Hopefully the majority of Wisconsin voters and taxpayers realize they now have a good thing going with Walker and are not listening to the propaganda from the union leaders who are only interested in their own self serving interests and not the state at large, and RE-ELECT Walker. Look at the turn around in Ohio under Kasich...same situation.

Mr Union basher.... Unions are responsible for every workplace benefit you enjoy... whether you admit it or not, or are grateful or not.... 40/hr work wk, vacation time, health ins, pension, safe working conditions, sick time, decent wages... Do ya think a "corporation" did all that for their employees... NO.... and dont think for minute that they cant be gone in the blink of any eye..... already starting about a $5/hr min wage....

Unions fight for the workingman... so what's your beef?... a respectful life for a working people should be all anyone wants... the fact that Fox & Foes & the Republican Party have convinced you that Unions are the enemy and the "corporate" is your friend should be harsh reality check when every benefit fought for will disappear.... welcome to the 1800's...

Every person that's in the employment world today should have decent wages & benefits.. what are you fighting for... the Repub "right to work for less" program?
