Kingdom Harvest Church, Power 93.1 Give Away Free Gas To Kansas Residents

Kansas Church 'Blesses' Congregation With Free Gas

For hundreds of Wichita, Kan., residents, waiting in line for gas at 6 in the morning last Saturday came with a sweet deal.

The Kingdom Harvest Church, along with radio station Power 93.9, donated a total of $5,000 worth of gas to the long line of cars, the Wichita Eagle reports.

"Every week we receive numerous calls for help," Senior Pastor DeAndre Morris told KWCH. "Whether it's through groceries, whether it's assisting with rent or utilities, so gas was something that we thought could be relevant and could touch and impact everybody."

The initiative gave away $20 worth of gas to the first 250 vehicles that showed up.

"The gas is $3.75 and it is extremely too high," driver Shyann Singleton told Kake.com. "So I'm grateful."
