At this weekend's Academy of Country Music Awards, HuffPost Entertainment and our friends at Entertainment Tonight had one question for the litany of stars pouring down the red carpet: When did you know you made it?
Since the AMC Awards are a time for music heavyweights to celebrate and be celebrated for their success, we thought it might be nice for the honorees and those honoring them to reflect on when they realized that they were going to put their starving artists years behind them.
We asked everyone from Nicole Kidman and Miranda Lambert to Lady Antebellum and Luke Bryan, and got their responses on camera. The results, which you can see in the video playlist below, range from the heartfelt to the humorous (Steve Martin: "Right now!"). Nicole Kidman's story is particularly endearing, and we're glad to hear that Gene Simmons' mother doesn't wear more makeup than he does.
