A video that Darien Firefighter Will Cornacchia uploaded to YouTube shows him asking Brittany Tiano to the prom:
"Is it yes?" he shouts from the bucket of the Engine 3 ladder truck.
"Yes!" she shouts back.
"Nice," someone says. "Did you think she was gonna say no?"
Cornacchia is asked if the adventure was "as good as you imagined it?"
"Better," he says.
After the bucket descended to the ground, Cornacchia asked Tiano, "You didn't expect that, right?"
"No, not at all."
"It's going on YouTube," he told her.
Later, another Darien High School student tells Cornacchia, "You just set the bar, like, above everyone else's head."
You've probably already seen this adorable vid of Jason Pitts serenading a girl named Lianna with his own original song and backup chorus, but this is pretty much a prom-asking internet classic.
This throwback to the '90s is guaranteed to make you LOL. Look at those matching pants! Check out that choreography! OMG!
This guy changed the lyrics of P!nk's "Perfect" to send a simple message to his best friend about how much she means to him -- and how much he wants to go to prom with her. How Glee is this whole thing?!
The level of preparation that went into this is intense and must not be ignored. Plus, the movie Up is cute, but so unexpected when applied to prom!
The combination of guy and guitar is something that hasn't gotten old, and once combined with the classic fake announcement, must have surely come as a welcome surprise.
This is one way to get a girl's attention. Nobody can get offended by flattery on such a large scale.
Let's hear it for... CUTE! PROM! PROPOSALS!
Spoiler: those bad boys lead to a girl who really wants to ask a guy out!
It's always extravagant when tons of other people get involved, and who could say no to shirtless men dancing to Cascada? She didn't.
How's this for a unique situation? Guy pretends to audition for the girl's dance team, when he really wants to ask her out. Hilarity (and pretty ridiculous dance moves) ensue.
