LA Water Main Breaks Result In Flooding And Street Closures (VIDEOS)

When West Hollywood resident Carlos Rodriguez stepped outside Tuesday morning, he said to KTLA, "My street looks like the set of a movie."

That's because in the early hours of the morning, six different water mains broke in Los Angeles, flooding streets and affecting 130 customers, according the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP).

As a result, 3rd Street, between Ogden and Fairfax, will be closed in both directions until 7pm Tuesday. This Farmers Market area was the worst hit in the city, as flooding led to parts of 3rd Street buckling, the Los Angeles Times reports.

The other water main breaks were at the following locations, KTLA reports:

-900 block of Croft Avenue

-5800 block of La Mirada Avenue

-6000 block of Waring Avenue

-1100 block of North McCadden Place

-300 block of N. Vista Street

-Fairfax Avenue and Third Street

The breaks were the result of pressure changes caused by repair work done on the Lower Franklin Reservoir on Monday, LADWP tweeted.
