If we ever run into Hollywood heartthrob James Marsden, we hope not to be sweating profusely or wearing lycra. But for the 2,999 other athletes running the Nautica South Beach Triathlon Sunday morning, well, letting that dream die was all for a good cause.

The "X-Men" star hit the beach to help raise $401,422 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, alongside the "Today Show" host Natalie Morales, Carolina Panthers running back DeAngelo Williams, WWE champ Dave Bautista, and actors Christian de la Fuente, David Denman, Mercedes Masohn, Josie Loren, Jeffrey Donovan, Geoff Stults, Greg Ellis, Patrick Fabian, Josh Hopkins.

The fifth annual Nautica Tri's Classic Distance Race involved a half-mile ocean swim, 19-mile bike ride ride, and four-mile run, coming to a close on the sands of South Beach with an awards ceremony presided over by comedian Bob Saget. While many of the celebs participated in the relay division, a speedy Morales and Stults won the celebrity female and male divisions of the standard tri while Sarah Haskins and Javier Gomez Noya took the pro categories. Congrats, all!
