David Beckham’s bulge has been the subject of an official inquiry.

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) in Britain investigated the 36-year-old soccer player’s advertisements for clothing giant H&M after it received three separate complaints branding the commercials “irresponsible” and “unsuitable for children to see” on television.

The campaign features the L.A. Galaxy star and father of four posing in his collection of undies which includes loose and a more, ahem, tighter fit.

Fortunately for millions of women and more than a few men Beckham’s package has been granted a reprieve. “While we acknowledged that some viewers might consider the images distasteful, we concluded the ad was unlikely to cause serious or widespread offense,” said the watchdog group, which employed its social responsibility guidelines.

They also defended Beckham’s pouty expressions, calling them “mildly sexual at most.”

The heavily tattooed athlete has also had to defend himself against even more heinous charges -- that his ads have been photoshopped -- an accusation he has vehemently denied.
