John McCain Jokes About Sarah Palin As A Possible Vice President (VIDEO)

04/04/12 07:30 AM ET  AP

WASHINGTON -- Sen. John McCain says Rick Santorum should recognize "it's time for a graceful exit" from the Republican presidential campaign in the wake of Mitt Romney's sweep of primaries in Wisconsin, Maryland and the District of Columbia.

McCain also tells "CBS This Morning" there's a strong field of Republicans who could be the vice presidential candidate.

When asked to suggest some names Wednesday, the Arizona Republican said, "I think it should be Sarah Palin." But when pressed to elaborate, he said "I think we have some very qualified candidates," citing Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida and Govs. Mitch Daniels of Indiana, Chris Christie of New Jersey and Bobby Jindal of Louisiana.

Palin, the former governor of Alaska, was McCain's running mate in his unsuccessful bid for the presidency four years ago.

"Joking" aside, shouldn't this McCain "joker" finally apologize for his biggest "joke"?

OK, if as I percieve the general concensus to be that; the US do not want Sarah Palin for VP, can you arrange extradition to the UK.
We are rapidly running out of 'Celebritys' for our many vaccuous reality television shows!

that was creepy, but you know what? i think it took guts, it's about like going to confession, throwing open the door and addressing the congregation instead of the priest in a hushed voice.

I am surprised Palin hasn't responded on facebook or twitter. Well, maybe she has.........no, if she had it would be all over this site as a headline.

I'm not laughing at your Palin joke John McCain. You picked a blank slate for VP and placed
America at great risk. You also gave encouragement to a handful of totally unprepared candidates
and convinced them that they too could be president. That's no laughing matter.

To Palin's credit she hasn't started a war based on lies, paid for with borrowed Chinese money. But that's as far as I'll go to defend her.

McCain passing Palin off on Romney would be like Edger Bergen selling Charley McCarthy to Terry Fader.
01:53 AM on 04/05/2012
Shhhhhh!!!!!! McCain actually despises Palin. Why do you think he proposes to dump her on Romney.
12:49 AM on 04/05/2012
