Why we love them:
Tart, tangy limes pack a ton of flavor despite the fact that they are relatively compact. They're also wee nutritional powerhouses, providing lots of dietary fiber and Vitamin C.

How to enjoy:
While many people's thoughts go straight to key lime pie (we're with you), there are loads of other options when it comes to enjoying this juicy fruit. Use limes to flavor fish or poultry, pop some into a fruit salad or squeeze some to season a fresh, spring soup.

High Gear Chia Treat

Power-packed chia is high in Omega 3 fatty acids which help your heart, brain, and immune system operate properly. Its soluble fiber is good for lowering LDL (bad) cholesterol while maintaining HDL (good) cholesterol.
It is also rich in minerals which protect your cell membranes, like calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, selenium and manganese, and high in protein and vitamin E.
Make some chia pudding today!
6 Servings

1 cup Bob’s Red Mill brown rice farina cereal
4 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1/2 cup agave nectar
Pinch of nutmeg
1 cup whole chia seeds
1 tbsp vanilla
11/2 tsp unsweetened vegan cocoa powder
Handful of raisins on top of each pudding treat
1/2 tsp cinnamon

1. Place all ingredients in a bowl except brown rice farina (best to use a wire whisk to mix).
2. Let stand approximately 30 minutes at room temperature. Stir every 10 minutes.
3. 1 cup brown rice farina cereal plus 3 cups of boiling water. Reduce heat, simmer for 5 to 8 minutes. Do not overcook. Chill in freezer for 10 minutes.
4. Add cooled cooked brown rice farina to mixture. Portion out individually in 1/2 to 1 cup containers. Garnish with raisins or fresh berries.
5. Refrigerate for a couple hours and serve!

Alfalfa sprouts! I've even learned how to grow them myself from this article: http://betterhealthwashington.com/2011/08/health-how-to-grow-your-own-alfalfa-sprouts/

They go great in a salad or sandwiches. Alfalfa sprouts are full of antioxidants and even have some protein. Yum!

To all the people looking for healthy foods, don't go to your typical grocerie stores. Go to some of the ethnic small groceries and you'll be suprise by some of the great finds out there. Try something that your don't usually see in your typical grocery. These small places usually come from small distributors who are not selling in large quantities, therefore sustaining the environment and friendly grower.

Stopped by a farmer's market on the way back into town the other day and picked up strawberries, watermelon, Rio grapefruit, yellow squash, red peppers, zucchini, Oh was it ever good! So sweet were the grapefruit I couldn't believe it. Watermelon too. Squash, peppers and zucchini were delicious for dinner and in salads. I'm going back there Saturday, high gas prices or not! I'll make the trip worth it by bringing back what family and friends want so they can drool over too!

Kohlrabi would also be a great dipping medium for hummus, or raw on a veggie plate.

For Kohlrabi - nothing beats baby kohlrabi peeled and sliced in a nice salad.

I love guavas, they are truly amazing fruit, but you can't find them anywhere outside of Florida, and a few other states in the South and Southwest, and even then, only in ethnic markets, which most people don't go to (to their detriment, really, because most times they are cheaper than regular stores). In the very rare occasions that you find them in a supermarket, they are outrageously expensive.

BLUEBERRIES from what I read today at; http://tony-baja-health-resort.blogspot.com/

on the article by Dr. David Jockers

"These foods are typically loaded with a combination of critical fatty acids, anti-oxidant phytonutrients and essential amino acids."

"Blueberries contain an extraordinary amount of unique phytonutrients and impressive anti-oxidant scores that make them a superfood."

again you can link to it here at; http://tony-baja-health-resort.blogspot.com/
