Nikki Haley: Allen West Would Be A 'Good' VP Pick

Nikki Haley Allen West

South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and Sarah Palin agree on one thing: Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) would be a good GOP vice presidential pick.

"You have heard Governor Palin talk about West, and he's good," Haley told Fox News. "Of course, Marco Rubio is great and Chris Christie. We know he can be the fighter, and I think there are so many really great ones out there. I think Romney is going to have a hard time picking."

Haley has endorsed Mitt Romney, unlike Palin, who voted for Newt Gingrich in the Alaska primary and believes that whoever the GOP nominee is, he needs to go "rogue" with his choice of running mate.

"Top of my list is Allen West," Palin said on 'Hannity' Tuesday night. "I love that he has that military experience, he is a public servant willing to serve for the right reasons. When I talk about going rogue, what I want is to encourage the GOP nominee to not think that they have to go with somebody necessarily safe. No matter who it is, they're going to get clobbered. The media will make things up about them and their record and their reputations and their families."

In the same interview, Palin said that the prospect of a second vice presidential run for herself is "not a no." Haley has repeatedly said that she does not want the second slot on a Romney ticket.

"If offered any position by Gov. Romney, I would say no," she told the AP Tuesday. "The people of South Carolina gave me a chance. I have a job to do and I'm not going to leave my job for anything."

Sarh Palin would like to see Willard pick Allen West becuase it would help people forget that she was easily the worst VP pick in American political history.

It is beyond me why either Haley or Palin would think this man would be a good VP. Maybe he threatens to pull out peoples finger nails with pliers if they don't throw him their support.

Romney is already going to lose in November. If he picks Allen West, Romney would be lucky to win five states. Obviously the Governor is not a deep thinker.

I raised my children to educate themselves on any subject before making a decision or publicly making a statement about it. In this day of internet access, it's a very simple thing to do. If my junior high children were able to do this then I believe elected officials should be able to do so, or at least surround themselves with intelligent people to keep them abreast of things they need to know. If elected officials are not knowledgable enough about the political climate then they need to stick to their job at hand and stay out of the national limelight. It appears Nikki Haley has started her campaign for a much higher office being that she has been in the national spotlight recently. If so, she needs to investigate the background of people she is going to publicly support.
This is a discussion I had with my now 25 year old daughter last night. She told me she was glad she was raised the way she was and had no patience for people who were not honorable or based their opinions on what someone tells them.
I guess our way of thinking is fast becoming outdated.
O course, I can't begin to express my disgust for Sarah Palin.

Looks as if Sarah is thinking she will get picked for VP. I cannot imagine anyone dumb enough to do that!

well...after listening to Romney's ridiculous speeches and pressers...I think he's probably dumb enough! but he has so much trouble relating to women.....he'll probably pick a man to run with him.

"I love that he has that military experience..."

"West was charged with violating articles 128 (assault) and 134 (general article) of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. During a hearing held as part of an Article 32 investigation in November 2003, West stated, "I know the method I used was not right..."

Yes, he does.

Palin, Haley, West, Angle, Brewer, Santorum, Paul, Joe the plumber, and Joe the trigger-happy sheriff better all be thankful we live in the age of political-correctness, or people would be calling them the id iots they are right to their faces. it's like they can no longer keep up with lowering the bar, so they just crawl on their bellies right from the start for good measure. i'm an American living outside the country, and you cannot understand how embarrassing today's GOP is until you see it from the outside. i'm tired of having to field comments and jokes from my neighbors here, because they really do believe that we are all that intellectually-challenged. my favorite part of that conversation is when, after they're done laughing about Palin and the rest of the clown parade, they always add, "... but i really like Obama". as much as the GOP talking about "restoring our reputation abroad", they know that the man sitting in the Oval Office right now is the single best bet we have at making that happen... and that part kills them. God bless America... we need all the help we can get.
